Sydney Opera House wireless audio upgrade - 2015

Auditoria was engaged by the Sydney Opera House Trust to design and manage the upgrade of all audio wireless systems and antenna systems in all venues. After multiple workshops with the SOH Sound team to determine the detailed requirements, we created an open tender document for the supply of the goods and a separate tender for the integration works including antenna systems and RF-over-fibre systems.

The SOH team nominated Shure Axient wireless microphone systems and Shure PSM1000 IEM systems. The Concert Hall received 16-channels of Axient and 8-channels of IEM, the Joan Sutherland Theatre received 8-channels of Axient and 4-channels of IEM, The Playhouse, Studio and Drama Theatre each received 6-channels of Axient and the Utzon Room received 2-channels of Axient. Portable RF racks were also supplied to augment the standard venue systems and also for use on the SOH Forecourt as needed. 100 channels of Axient were supplied in total.

Our team consisted of Scott Willsallen, Luis Miranda, Ian Baldwin and Steve Caldwell (on loan from Norwest Productions). The PA People won the integration Tender and their work was managed by Brett Steele and Cambell Waller.
